Contact UsJohn Tentinger, MD is a diagnostic radiologist. He earned his medical degree from The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine in Iowa City. He completed his internship in internal medicine and residency training in diagnostic radiology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
Through his privately-owned radiology physician group, Advanced Medical Imaging, Dr.Tentinger provides radiology services and diagnostic assessments for Broadlawns Medical Center (2003-present) and Pella Regional Medical Center (2022-present). From 2003-2013, Dr. Tentinger was also a radiologist for UnityPoint Health-Des Moines.
In October 2018, Dr. Tentinger established Innovative Radiology, LLC and became part owner of an existing MRI imaging center in West Des Moines, Alliance Healthcare Radiology. In May 2024, Innovative Radiology assumed full ownership of the West Des Moines imaging center, and the site is undergoing a transformative remodel and expansion to incorporate the most advanced imaging technology available in MRI, CT, ultrasound, C-arm fluoroscopy, DEXA, mammography, stereotactic biopsy, and x-ray. In addition to traditional medical imaging, Innovative Radiology will emphasize brain imaging and whole-body health assessments. The renovations and expansion of the West Des Moines imaging center should be complete by the end of 2024.
Concurrently, Dr. Tentinger is developing a 25.3-acre medical campus, Total Health Experience, in Urbandale. Construction of the medical campus will commence in the summer of 2024 with an anticipated opening date for Total Health Experience in 2027. The center building of Total Health Experience’s medical campus will serve as a future flagship location for Innovative Radiology, providing state-of-the-art imaging and diagnostic assessments in MRI, CT, PET, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, mammography, stereotactic biopsy, DEXA, and x-ray.
