Yvonne Grant

Chief Clinical Officer

Yvonne grew up on a farm in Southern Iowa, though she was born in Atlanta, Georgia, while her father was stationed there in the Army. Her family moved back to Iowa before she turned two when her father left the Army. She attended East Union Community School, the University of Iowa, and St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois, where she earned her bachelor's degree. In her free time, Yvonne enjoys traveling, quilting, cooking, and spending time with friends and family. She’s also an active member of a book club with her old Mercy crew (and they do actually read!) and loves any opportunity to spend time with her grandchildren. Yvonne's career began in 1980 at the University of Iowa, where she started in the fileroom organizing and filing x-rays. She later worked in the Trauma/Orthopaedic Department and was the tech for the Iowa Hawkeye football team, receiving free tickets to the games. She went on to work in Des Moines at Mercy, DMOS, UnityPoint, and Broadlawns, with each position offering its own set of challenges and rewards. A fun fact about Yvonne is that she will celebrate 45 years in the profession next year. She worked on the first MRI in Des Moines, which was shared between UnityPoint and Mercy, and helped establish the MRI department at Mercy. She also conducted research at the University of Iowa on a CT cardiac scanner for animals. Her favorite thing about working at Innovative Radiology is the incredible people she gets to work with, especially Dr. Tentinger, with whom she has had the honor of working for over 20 years. She appreciates working with someone who always prioritizes the best care for the patient, never treating them as a number. Yvonne is also grateful for the compassionate and helpful staff, particularly the IT team, who patiently answers all of her computer-related questions. She loves that the field of radiology is constantly evolving, allowing her to continue learning and growing each day. Her goal is to ensure every patient receives the best possible care using cutting-edge technology. Yvonne hopes to end her career at Innovative Radiology—though not anytime soon.
